About Me
Zach Peterson is a Detroit-based musician who writes and performs folk rock in keeping with the heritage of North America’s greatest musical storytellers. Combining compelling lyrics with diatonic harmonies and rock-and-roll grooves, Peterson weaves tales of love, friendship, laughter and politics from his travels and experiences in Michigan, Canada and as a reporter covering the U.S. Navy at home and abroad. Peterson’s songs paint audio portraits of characters whose paths he’s crossed in life. You’ll find that Peterson’s stories, filled with touching and clever lyrics, stick with you long after the catchy music has stopped playing out loud. You’ll feel like you’ve been driving with KP, been entertained by the Great Daryl Nathan on Public TV and been locked away (temporarily) in a detainee camp in Iraq. More than a few songs will make you chuckle at yourself and the singer-songwriter. (You'll be reminded to watch out for those charmers with guitars in "Girls Like You" and to slow down and think of times past in "Slow Motion") After just a few of Peterson’s songs, you’ll feel you know not only his characters but the man behind the chords and the lyrics. And you’ll want to listen to and know more.
